I know scammers are idiots but that's just some kind of peak for stupidity.
The funniest part is, the runner was such a moron he didn't just leave and go run about 10 more people in the time he was waiting for the scammer to leave.

You offer a service that requires for people to pay after, this will happen. Suck it up.

I lol'd. Can't be a very good scammer if he's cheating people out of 2k. That's chump change in the scammer world. Not even good enough for the "I dupplicate itemz u dropp now?"

Scammers during CoF are common, something that happens to most runners. Nothing we didn't hear before.

Anyways, good job. Always a good feeling to beat or outwit a scammer...though that's not exactly a hard thing to do, as most scammers are among the most dim-witted beings in existance.

Or you can stop running people and just farm CoF, if you have two accounts you don't need anyone else and make just as much money as I would running. Another bonus is you don't have to deal with people like scammers and ursan blessing idiots (always was fun to see some ursan run pass me to try out his skills then run to the smite with a mob behind him).

Then he says don't worry about ressing me, i'll just res when you guys leave..... He says this in very broken english, coupled with the fact that this means he is going to pay me in town *AFTER* i know this guy is a scammer.

Anyway, i was about to call it a night so i decided just to leave GW running in the backround on my comp while i slept. I did watch it for about 30 minutes and he hadn't left. He also came out and said basically that he can outwait me and as soon as i do leave, he's golden. Anyway, i came back this afternoon and he was gone.

I win.

Pwned.
I lol'ed. Nice job. I hate scammers, it's even worse when they do it for ridiculous amounts like 2k that you get back fairly fast. Last time I got ran (after someone harrassed me to tag along, he was ready to pay my run x], gotta love my guildies ) I made some cash from the drops, a req10 ele sword, a scythe with a 20/20 mod on it, quest reward and 2 lockpicks from hidden treasures. Was well worth the 2k.

I leave it on, mostly because I download stuff via Bittorrent and it eats my bandwidth to do it in the day if I play GW - my ping increases pretty bad and it becomes unplayable. I run it if I play an offline game or if I go AFK for 30+ minutes.

The fact that the CoF runners have the cheek to charge a fee for a run that they cannot complete without the assistance of the people they're running is utterly outrageous. If the smiter can't heal their self, they will die eventually along the course of the run.
I agree with you. The smiter CAN heal himself, therefore, IMHO, should do it. I run both the 600 and the smiter, as a smiter I've died a few times 'cause I wasn't paying attention (or some moment where I went like "oooh pretty red bar is going not-so-pretty red... wait that means I'm dying... **** it I'm dead"). It's not hard at all. 3 in tactics, if your 600 is smart enough not to aggro too many... whatever uses reveral of damage (brain fart here >_>) you can stay alive easily.

People I know who does this do not sleep with their computer turned on for no reasons. They do so while downloading stuffs or something like that. Call it wasteful if you like though, but to many others, its time efficiency.

But as for story for children, this part should probably be omitted.

The CoF CR is way overrated anyways. i think that anyone who stays one that long for a measly 2k fails at life. You could either make your own monk and do it or find free ones (the golds that drop are terrible). I find it hilarious how many people gang up on you after you say running for tips. The real winners are the people actually running, who can make around 20k per run. I am thinking of starting my own monk and doing this, but a 1 hour to 90 minute commitment is very hard to do...

Am I correct in thinking that the OP left his entire party hanging, 5 other paying people, because this one guy refused to pay?

I was in a run where 2 of the same guild were scamming at the beginning of the 3rd level. Just went afk and didn't talk. After we got a little ways into the 3rd level, I went back and aggro'd the mob by the beginning that no one kills into them and we finished the run. I had things to do, so I thanked the runners and let them know I'd be staying. Those 2 BEGGED to be rez'd for a while, drawing on the screen since I didn't answer chat. I'll give you 3K if you rez me, they said. Funny thing is, as soon as the end chest was reached and people were picking up their drops and left, after there was no more chat going on, they started talking, asking to be rez'd.

Anyways, they finally left after about 2 hours (I would come by the computer every once in a while to check on them).
